PROFILE
Dr Kuhendra Bala is a dual-trained Cardiologist and General Physician. Dr Bala specialises in cardiac imaging.
Dr Bala graduated from The University of Melbourne and completed his advanced training in Cardiology and General Medicine at the Austin Hospital and Launceston General Hospital. Subsequently, he undertook a non-invasive cardiac imaging fellowship focusing on echocardiography and cardiac CT at Monash Heart.
Dr Bala manages a wide variety of adult cardiovascular conditions including coronary artery disease and cardiac risk assessment, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, valvular heart disease, hypertension and dyslipidaemia.
Dr Bala has a special interest in transthoracic echocardiography (TTE), stress echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE), CT coronary angiography (CTCA) and CT calcium score.
The combination of dual specialist training in Cardiology and General Medicine enables Dr Bala to provide comprehensive care plans tailoring specialist cardiology treatment to patients with complex medical conditions. As well as providing a high standard of holistic and individualised care, he prides himself on educating his patients about their condition to improve patient satisfaction and outcomes.

Dr Bala does not routinely bulk bill, however he discounts for pensioners and healthcare cardholders. You do not need to have private health insurance for an appointment.
You can only obtain the Medicare refund if you have been referred by another medical practitioner so please bring along your referral with you on the day.
Private Hospital Care
Dr Bala participates in the 'No-GAP' cover with most of the private health insurance companies. This means that any ‘out of pocket’ doctor’s fees for your medical care in a private hospital will be kept to a minimum. Our office will provide further details at the time of your admission.
